Early diagnosis
An early diagnosis can make a real difference to outcomes and quality of life. Sadly, leukaemia is not always recognised quickly.
We campaign to improve awareness and support earlier diagnosis.
Why early diagnosis matters
Delays in diagnosis can lead to:
- Worse health outcomes
- More intensive treatment
- Increased stress for patients and families
Earlier diagnosis can mean faster access to care and support.
What we are working towards
We work to:
- Raise awareness of symptoms
- Support better understanding of leukaemia
- Highlight the impact of delayed diagnosis
Our aim is to help more people get the right diagnosis as early as possible.
Evidence of this work
Our Spot Leukaemia campaign is continually raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of leukaemia. Early diagnosis saves lives and improves outcomes.
Promotion of our primary care training to raise suspicions of leukaemia. Training is online and free for GPs, primary care nurses and allied health professionals
