Join #TeamLC on a truly iconic trekking challenge and experience one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The Great Wall of China Trek takes you along remote and lesser-visited sections of this extraordinary structure, offering breathtaking scenery, rich history and a huge sense of achievement.

Over five days of trekking, you’ll hike across mountains, watchtowers and battlement stations, often far from the tourist trail, where it can feel like the Wall is yours alone.

The experience

Stretching over 6,000km, the Great Wall winds across mountains and valleys, creating a dramatic and unforgettable trekking backdrop. This challenge is physically demanding, with countless stone steps to climb and descend each day. In places, it can take up to an hour to cover just one kilometre.

One of the highlights is tackling the 1,000 steps at Mutianyu, culminating in the ascent of the famous Heavenly Ladder. With exceptional support from sign-up through to the trek itself, this challenge is tough but incredibly rewarding.

The itinerary

This is a 9-day challenge, including travel.

Highlights include:

• Trekking remote sections such as Taipingzhai, Gubeikou and Jinshanling
  
• Climbing historic watchtowers and mountain passes
  
• Conquering the Mutianyu section and the Heavenly Ladder
  
• Free time in Beijing to explore landmarks such as the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square
